Wellness Program

Orange County Equine Veterinary Services is excited to offer an easy way to organize your horse's annual preventative care! Our wellness programs to help take the guesswork out of routine vaccinations, deworming, dental care, and other recommended annual health maintenance. Our goal is to keep your horse feeling and performing at their absolute best, and these programs will help us prevent and detect potential health issues before they become problematic.

As each horse is unique, we offer three different programs to meet their needs: General, Sport Horse, and Senior. All plans are compliant with ColiCare (SmartPak) and EQCO (Platinum Performance) colic reimbursement programs and most equine insurance policy requirements for preventative care.

We offer all clients enrolled with a 5% discount on medications off the truck, a complimentary annual fecal egg count, and one waived emergency call fee during the year. For each horse that you enroll and complete services for, you are entered into our year end give away for a free box of Adequan.

General

• Annual physical exam including evaluation of heart, lungs, GI, palpation of back, legs, neck, eyes, weight, basic gait analysis.

• Annual oral exam and float.

• Annual fecal test with deworming as indicated.

• Vaccinations (EWE/Tetanus, West Nile, Rabies-Potomac, Flu Rhino, Strangles)

• Annual gastric scope (recommended)

Sport Horse

• Includes all of the services listed with the General Horse

• General health profile bloodwork (CBC/Chemistry)

• Annual soundness exam with flexions

• Annual hoof balance x-rays

Senior

• Includes all of the services listed with the General Horse

• General healthy profile bloodwork (CBC/Chemistry)

• Annual Metabolic bloodwork to monitor ACTH (Cushing’s/PPID), Insulin, Glucose, Thyroid, Leptin.
