Functional Electrical Stimulation
Functional electrical stimulation uses electricity to stimulate the motor nerves and cause controlled muscle contraction and relaxation. It helps restore normal muscle function, provide pain relief and improve strength and symmetry and it is very helpful for treating back, pelvic and neck pain. It is also used to reverse muscle atrophy and build muscle. For limb swelling or injuries, it is an additional treatment modality that puts controlled motion through the affected area.
